THE CURRICULUM

The structure is teachable. The music is between you and God.

The method is called Bottle & Lightning. The bottle is everything you can build on purpose. A home studio, ten principles, five stages. An AI you learn to direct. We build in Suno. The lightning is the part no calendar can book. The ten days are arranged so it has somewhere to land.

Film · Let God In

“Leave the door cracked, and let God in.”

Jay-Z, from Fade to Black

The full line: “They say you put the right artist with the right track in the studio, leave the door cracked, and let God in.”

That is Bottle & Lightning in one sentence. You build everything you can control. The studio, the plan, the ten principles, the tools you learn to direct. Then you leave the door cracked for the part you can’t. The structure is ours. The music is yours, and God’s.

How a song grows, in five stages

STAGE 1

DEMO

Turn the first sound into a full rough demo. Save your choices, versions, and AI use in the creation trail.

DAYS 1–2

STAGE 2

RECORD

Turn the demo into a performance or part you want to keep.

DAYS 3–4

STAGE 3

SINGLE

Turn the recording into a finished song. Mix it, check it, and make the final call.

DAYS 5–6

STAGE 4

RELEASE

Turn the finished song into a release. Check the rights, files, story, and release plan.

DAYS 7–10

STAGE 5

CATALOG

One release teaches you how to make the next. Master Mind helps you keep going.

AFTER DAY 10

TEN PRINCIPLES OF BOTTLE & LIGHTNING

You build the bottle.
You make room for the lightning.

Every session, teaching block, and critique across the ten days follows them.

01

Show up and begin.

Lightning doesn’t keep a schedule. The session does.

02

You decide.

Tools propose. You dispose.

03

Leave room.

Not every bar needs filling. The cracked door is part of the arrangement.

04

Capture everything.

Wherever the magic comes from, the Lightning Log is where it lands.

05

Listen closely.

What does the track say? Critique starts there.

06

Change one thing at a time.

Or you won’t know what worked.

07

Protect fresh ears.

Breaks are part of the mix.

08

Notes become credits.

Contribution gets written down as it happens.

09

Build a space where risk is safe.

Bad takes are the price of good ones. Coal makes diamonds.

10

Lightning outranks the clock.

When it strikes, the schedule bends.

TOOLS YOU KEEP

The tools you use daily and keep for good.

The Song Plan

Use one page to plan the song. Name the listener, references, limits, and what “done” means.

BUILT ON DAY 1 · TOUCHED EVERY DAY

14-Step Release Checklist

One page from idea to release. It anchors days 7–10 and the Song Starter Kit.

STARTED DAY 7

The Lightning Log

Save each idea when it shows up. Add the date so you can find it later.

IN USE ALL TEN DAYS

The Notes Page

Save each part as it is made. Those notes help you write the credits later.

EVERY SESSION

Creative Vocabulary

Use words that name the sound. Do not name another artist.

TAUGHT DAY 1

Project Templates

Simple file names and session setups keep the work clear. They still work when a new person joins or the song changes.

INSTALLED DAY 3

THE PRACTICE

Artist writing session notes in a notebook beside a laptop and audio interface

Notes help you choose. Your choices help you finish the release.

WHERE COMMUNITY COMES IN

Finish the work first. Then bring in the community.

RETURN

Proof of the work first, then what it demonstrates. This is where it leads, where it lives (m-u-s-i-c.ai). Back to the work itself. Nothing here ever pressures you to share.

THE TWO RULES

1

Use only material you own or are permitted to use.

2

Never ask an AI to copy a real artist — describe traits instead.

The same two rules apply to every age and program. They help keep the work yours.

Watch the method at work.

Ten days of steady, deliberate work.
